A GFCI outlet monitors the current flowing in and out of a circuit. If it detects a ground fault — even as small as 5 milliamps — it cuts power in under 1/40th of a second. This rapid response can mean the difference between a minor shock and a fatal electrocution.
We install GFCI outlets in all required locations and test each one with a dedicated circuit tester. We also replace old two-prong outlets with GFCI outlets in ungrounded circuits — this is an ESA-approved method that adds shock protection without requiring a complete rewire.
